Unique Definition Clothing & Entertainment has been one of ModelWire Network’s first members and has made a big impact on the site and an even bigger impact on the male modeling industry. They are the ones behind, The Next Male Model Icon Competition, a three day male modeling competition that takes place in D.C.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Venor Biggs the President and & CEO of Unique Definition, who is gearing up for The Next Male Model Icon Second Cycle.
What is The Next Male Model Icon competition all about?
The Next Male Model Icon is a male model competition in search for the next iconic face in the male model industry. This competition will take 17 male models on a fashion and entertainment journey that will test their skill, drive, and determination to be the best in their field. In the 3 days that they compete they will have the opportunity to work with different professional photographers, makeup artists, other professional models, and creative directors, while they undergo challenges and tasks that will justify the overall winner of the competition.
Where did the inspiration for this competition start?
I always thought that male models didn't have a huge presence in the modeling industry as their female counterparts. It’s high time that a male model competition goes underway to promote the creativity, sensuality, and charisma male models posses.
What is the process you go through for finding models?
We go through a rigorous search some of which span worldwide. We receive countess submissions from male models wanting to work with Unique Definition. Choosing its next face is always a hard task for us.
What do you look for when selecting the contestants?
We look for instant appeal, as soon as we open up an image does it strike us instantly and what physical features compliment their overall image.
What does the winner receive?
The winner receives $1000, an underwear photo shoot with Unique Definition, and surprise weekend gate away, and custom model portfolio.
Who are your judges for Cycle 2?
Venor Biggs (myself), Professional Photographer Troy Timberlake (www.exvotostudio.com), and we have a few guest judges.

The Next Male Model Icon Cycle 2 is taking place from Friday, September 23 at 9:00am - September 25 at 12:00pm in segments held throughout the Washington D.C. area. Some of the locations where you can watch the models compete - for FREE- will be in the Washington's Fashion District, "Georgetown," DC Fashion Week, The Residence Inn Capital View, and VIDA Fitness.
