Plus-Size Model & Actress Diana Gaitirira: Signed, Sealed, Delivered to New Endeavors

If you haven't yet, you need to Friend Request Diana "Dia" Gaitirira on ModelWire Network - she is doing things!

When and why did you start modeling?
I started modeling 3 years ago as a hobby and found it to be very therapeutic and exciting, so I decided to take it seriously last year.

What has been your favorite project you have worked on so far?
Co-producing my first short film called "Not On Board." It was both empowering and a learning experience. Hopefully this is the beginning of several projects.

Is there a piece of advice you would like to share with everyone?
The advice I want to share with everyone is never stop dreaming.
I'd like to share a quote from one of my heroes:
"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world." Harriet Tubman

New York, NY 6/28/2011: After receiving the green light at the beginning of the month with a photo feature in the “Street Style” section of Essence Magazine and featured as a Goddess Bride in Goddess Magazine’s June/July  issue, plus-model  and actress Diana Gaitirira is expanding her resume one endeavor at a time.

As the newly appointed Brand Ambassador for 8 Plus Divas, a plus-size blog launched in October 2010 by sisters, Roseanna McCoy-Futch and Gazania McCoy-Washington, Diana also recently signed on to be a contributor as the new host and producer of her own exclusive Vlog with called, “Parlez-Vous Plus,” which will feature segments on various topics that affect the plus community from health and fitness to fashion! Coined as “New Mexico’s fun and fitness diva,” Diana’s first segment focused on anti-gravity yoga, a plus-friendly exercise routine for beginners and proficient yoga enthusiasts.

The second episode will discuss size discrimination in Hollywood and the barriers that have been broken with prominent plus-size  events such as Full Figured Fashion Week (FFFWeek), which has redefined and revolutionized industry standards of beauty to include a platform for curvy women around the world!

In addition to being signed to  A&M Agency, a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) approved talent agency, providing representation for union and non-union actors and models, Diana is also scheduled to sign with  Dani’s Agency, LLC this summer to further expand her voice-over talents and cast for more leading and dynamic roles in television and film.
